Explore Water: Educational Mobile Game Summer 2025
The Aquatic Biosphere Society of Canada aims to enhance its science-based outreach educational exhibit by developing an engaging mobile gaming app for Android and iOS platforms. The project will require the design and development of a user-friendly interface, educational content, and interactive game elements that align with the exhibit's educational goals. The app should be visually appealing and intuitive, ensuring accessibility for a wide audience, including students and families visiting the exhibit. The educational exhibit, a small cargo trailer, features a detailed mural that the app will be working off. The app will serve as an interactive tool to educate users about Alberta ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation efforts. By integrating gamified learning experiences, the app will encourage users to explore various habitats, complete educational challenges, and learn about the importance of preserving biodiversity. A basic prototype has been developed that the team can build on, or start fresh using the prototype as a guide. The app must be able to scan the mural, identify animals within the image, and provide information and gameplay based on those images. Rewards and progressive difficulty in play need to be factored in. Profile of the exhibit, The Minnow,: https://www.aquaticbiosphere.ca/the-minnow and a description of the overall program: https://www.aquaticbiosphere.ca/explorewater

Ecotourism Website/Social Media Analysis, Revisions & Marketing Plans
The Aquatic Biosphere Project is a new ecotourism development based in Edmonton, Alberta. A next generation facility, this project is developing an aquatic ecosystem attraction & education facility rooted in conservation & research. Experiencing the ' Story of Water ', the visitor will explore connections of water, humans and biodiversity through interactive digital, physical & live exhibits that will engage & inspire. Digital content and storytelling is a large component of this project so the online presence needs to be strong and directed. It needs the support of media/communications that is seamlessly integrated, coordinated and agile. There are three distinct areas for analysis & correction: website, social media, video & podcast platforms. The end goal is to analyze, update and refine current digital and social media content and practices to: a) enhance & attract project supporters & donors while building an active community base; b) provide ongoing project updates to stakeholders.
