(VFC) FoundersBoost Vancouver - Accelerator Program Management + Marketing
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: FoundersBoost (a partner of Techstars) is a mentor-driven pre-acceleration program that runs for 6 weeks and we take no fees or equity from startups. Our goal is to prepare early-stage startups in Vancouver/BC for accelerators, seed investors, and revenue by providing pitch coaching and mentorship during the program as well as connections to accelerators and VCs after the program We are running two cohorts each year: Spring Cohort - Application period between Jan - Mar, six Weekly sessions between Mar - Apr, Demo Day in May Fall Cohort - Application period between Jul - Sep, six Weekly sessions between Oct - Nov, Demo Day in Dec Between Jan - Mar and Jul - Sep, we will be focusing on promoting the accelerator program and recruiting startups/mentors, as well as hosting webinars and startup community events Between Mar - Apr and Oct - Nov, we will be focusing on running the weekly sessions and recruiting Investors for Demo Days HOW MANY STUDENT INTRAPRENEURS WILL THIS PROJECT ACCOMMODATE? 5 TIME COMMITMENT PER STUDENT : 70 hours KEY PROJECT ACTIVITIES: Accelerator program management, startup event management Marketing and Promotion Research startups and supporting organizations IDEAL ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:* Marketing + PR - Event promotion in our social media channels, other tech communities, and tech medias Sponsorship - Reach out to potential sponsors to secure sponsorship for our events (professional firms, tech companies, etc) Program Associate - Coordinate with startups, mentors, speakers, investors, and Headquarter Venture Analyst - Researching, sourcing, and recruiting startups to the accelerator program Event Management - Host and organize webinars and startup community events Partnership - Research and develop relationships with different related communities/organizations that support startups FINAL PROJECT DELIVERABLES: This varies depending on the roles and the time your project start/ends (in relative to what we are focusing on during that time as mentioned in the Project Description section above) PROJECT MENTOR NAME: Kenneth Ip - FoundersBoost Vancouver Director
Aisha Comfortable Coliving Inc. - Marketing Strategy
PROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET: The goal of Aisha Comfortable Coliving Inc. is to provide a coliving housing option for single women age 18+. Coliving is a housing style that takes home sharing to a new level. Coliving operators provide professional management and maintenance services for the coliving properties on behalf of the owners and tenants. We will provide three broad categories of services: 1- Matching services between homeowners and tenants 2- Providing activities that help build a fun supportive community. 3- Professionally managing the properties that use the coliving service of our company. Our company is a fun place to work where we all are one team and support each other. As our customers are women age 18+, we have many sub customer segments and we need to design and implement a marketing strategy that speaks to these different subsegments. We need to use multiple channels to reach our customers. Therefore we will need to hire a team of five students where each student will be contributing a seventy hours of work towards this project. PROJECT SCOPE: You will be working with our dynamic business and marketing team to come up and deploy different strategies to reach a bigger community of health and wellness providers and seekers. KEY PROJECT ACTIVITIES: Sales activities by reaching out to people Campaign set ups Helping with creating communities on different social channels Reach out to health and wellness influencers to set up Lives IG and get them to work with us with video and interviews Setting up Facebook funnels by creating Facebook group strategy and building a community. Alterativ - Market Research + Social Media Strategy
PROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET: Alterativ Design Lab is an innovative design firm based in Vancouver with a vision for the future of architecture and construction. Alteratec is the technology branch of the firm dedicated to advancing 3D printing technology for construction. Our goal is to resolve major issued faced by the construction industry such as labor shortages, cost of labor/materials, and the speed of construction. We believe that 3D printing technology has the potential to address these issues via automation of design to fabrication, material use optimization, and rapid construction. However, the technology is still in its infancy and there are many areas that need research and development before this positive change can occur. This project aims to bring together a research and development team in order to create a prototype in Vancouver that will showcase the potential to both the industry and the public. A multidisciplinary team including a construction materials company, a real estate developer, structural engineering company lead by Alterativ will be needed to achieve the goals. As students joining us, you can expect to be part of a young, ambitious, and energetic team. We work hard to bring positive change to the world but doing so with a smile on our face is a must. Having fun is part of the journey. You will be exposed to one of the most exciting emerging technologies promising to solve critical issues of society such as housing affordability.
