Data Collection /Analysis / Creative Writing / Social Media Marketing
Splashtemp.com is an all-encompassing database for pools for recreational facilities and hotels. Swimming pool information is not readily available from individual facilities and/or easily searchable. Splashtemp.com solves this problem by centralizing over fifty pool attributes in a platform, with particular focus related to physical and mental accessibility challenges. Currently there is no database to find accessibility resources available at swim facilities. Large booking sites such as Booking.com or Expedia.com include some information accessibility however this is typically limited to the hotel front desk & room. Splashtemp takes this another step forward and provides specific data on items including pool temperature, water depth, change rooms accessibly (universal change rooms), pool entry (lift pod hoists), lifejackets and other safety items available. These items are are searchable through an easy user interface. Our other targeted user group are families. Anyone traveling with kids knows the quality of a hotel pool is an important booking requirement. Although some information may be provided by the hotel or buried in blog, much of it is cumbersome to find. Information such as temperature, policy on swim diapers, or water slide height restrictions can all negatively impact a family experience. As an example, Splashtemp.com allows users to search for hotels that have a pool minimum temperature of 29C, waterslides available for children under 48â, and lifejackets available for public use. Splashtemp currently focuses on North America with over 40,000 hotel pools now listed with a growing number of public recreational facilities in Canada. Primary Job Description The primary job tasks will be data collection/verification from hotels and public recreation facilities (via phone and email communication). Candidates will also be asked to communicate with non-profit organizations to better understand accessibility needs for pools and recreation facilities. As data is collected it will need to be analyzed to ensure it is accurate and is appropriate to be published on Splashtemp.com. With this data (and local expertise knowledge), we hope successful candidates can work/create new social media marketing strategies and make a splash with their creative writing skills (via blogs).
