Interior Design Solutions for Real-World Spaces
This experience is designed for learners enrolled in a diploma program focused on interior design and decoration. Over the course of the Winter term, learners will collaborate with real clients to develop comprehensive decorating solutions for various spaces. By applying their classroom knowledge, learners will create detailed drawings, floor plans, and presentations to effectively communicate their design concepts. The experience emphasizes working within a budget and understanding client needs, preparing learners for real-world challenges in the interior design industry.
Interior Decorating Capstone
Concept: We are looking for a client that has a re-decorating or staging project that requires detailed solutions. The learners will work on the project for the entirety of the Winter term (January – April). The client will be required for initial interviews/consultations, at least one concept check in and for the final presentation in April. As this is a decorating solution, there is no movement of existing walls, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical outlets or systems. If this is part of the project, please discuss further with the faculty facility the course to determine if the project could be feasible for the learners. The client will receive a drawing package, control book and solution package for the project.
