Positions available: up to 65 We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. During the spring and summer, the Antarctic Institute of Canada runs a program called Sharpen the Quill. The goal of the project is to develop student's writing and publication skills. During March and April, students will be expected to write 4 articles for us. These can be blogs, newspaper, or peer-reviewed articles. We have places to publish the articles for free on peer-reviewed publications. Students will be expected to: Research topics Write articles for a specific journal Peer-review articles for other students Submit their articles for approval and revisions before publication
Graphic Designer & Publisher Technician: Phase 1 (Medicine/Health)
Positions available: 18 We would like students to design and publish books. This will run in conjunction with the writing projects that we are running. Graphic design projects will be staggered to run one week after the other group of students finish their writing. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: design and publish one book each week design and publish books (interior and exterior) each week and upload to publishing servers and sites use Adobe to publish keep timelines This is an ongoing initiative over 8 weeks. Students will work on 2 separate books per phase of the initiative. There will be 4 project postings on Riipen that students will need to apply for.

Athlete Influencer Marketing Internship
We’re looking for a student to help us develop a network of influencers that can help with our brand recognition and marketing strategies. The role of 80 hours will consist of focusing and outreaching to social media influencers on Instagram that are relevant to football to market and sell our products. We would like students to craft a pitch of why these influencers should work with us to sell and market our products, then pitch it to athletes, coaches, social media influencers etc., with the aim to get coverage. Example: Offer an athlete our product for free for posting on their social media account or offer a small amount of compensation per post. Students can also use Highlight Exposure to find connections to football players to promote and sell our products. You will be asked to keep a google spreadsheet of all influencers you’ve reached out to/who we should reach out to for record keeping purposes, and cases where they may follow up after your project ends.
😀 Digital Marketing - Graphic Designers
# of positions open: 4 Project Details: We are looking for 4 students to help us convert 40 blog cover images to custom-created graphic arts. The 40 blogs will be split into 4 students (10/student) for them to convert the stock images we used to custom student-created images. The images can be fictional or non-fictional, we just want some non-stock-looking images. For each of the blogs, we will let the student know what the theme of the blog is, and what images the student will need to create. You can use the digital art created as part of your portfolio, however, we will still like to remain the owner of the images due to legal reasons.

This project will begin on August 1st following a kick-off meeting and orientation for all student-hires. This project’s end-date is September 3rd, 2022. The Antarctic Institute of Canada (AIC) is a non-profit organization that conducts research activities, academic mentorship programs, and equity building through a variety of government-funded work-initiatives for graduate and undergraduate students. The AIC is seeking 20 (twenty) post-secondary students currently enrolled in a graphic-design program to fulfill tasks needed to complete a catalog of pre-print children’s books. Applicants should be comfortable working with Adobe Indesign, converting files to alternative formats and creating digital illustrations. Additionally, designers will fulfill additional duties to prepare books for manuscript publication. This may include design work, manuscript formatting, and editing as needed.

The AIC is seeking 6 (six) post-secondary students with experience in graphic-design to fulfill tasks needed to complete book and audio cover designs. This project will begin November 7. The end-date for the project and deliverable submission deadline is December 5. Job Expectations Applicants must be experienced in AIC book design and audiobook cover design. As such, applicants should be comfortable working with Adobe Indesign, converting files to alternative formats and creating digital illustrations. Experience with Printful design is an asset. Additionally, designers will fulfill additional duties to prepare books for manuscript publication. This may include design work, manuscript formatting, and editing as needed.
