Description

In a world where trust between law enforcement and communities is at a critical juncture, BlueBridge Alliance is committed to fostering a culture of compassion and collaboration. Our mission is to enable law enforcement officers to extend a helping hand to those in need, bridging the gap between officers and the communities they serve.

At the heart of our approach is the belief that compassion is not only a virtue; it’s a strategic imperative for building safer communities. When law enforcement officers are seen as partners in addressing the challenges faced by community members, they create mutual trust and respect. This, in turn, leads to increased cooperation, improved communication, and enhanced public safety.

BlueBridge Website Overhaul

Our organization works with lots of communities to help people who are struggling. We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more stakeholders (communities, supporters, and donors). We would like to work with students to develop a new website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This can be achieved through common site building tools such as WordPress (current platform). This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages / disadvantages. Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.

BlueBridge Mobile Application Phase 2

Currently, our end users have three tasks that they need to complete when they utilize our program to help individuals: 1) Upload a receipt to our debit card system (prior, they can also query the system to find out account balance information and request more funds) 2) Fill out a usage report form 3) Find other sources of aid for the individuals for more long term aid These three tasks currently require the user to switch between tools, creating friction in the process. Ideally, we can offer users an app that includes all three of those functions in one place. Even better if, from a UI perspective, we can wrap it in a 3-step process where the user must complete all three steps to "close out" the record.

I enjoyed working with BlueBridge Alliance through the Tech Talent Boost Washington Program to revamp their website. This project was an outstanding opportunity for me to learn how to work with WordPress and Elementor for the first time. BlueBridge Alliance's clear communication and specific requirements allowed me to tailor the website redesign to their needs. Working with BlueBridge Alliance was an incredibly rewarding experience. Their dedication to their mission and our successful collaboration resulted in a significantly improved website that better reflects their professional image.

Project feedback
I gained valuable experience working on this project, especially as it was my first time using WordPress. Brian, the CEO, created a supportive environment by allowing us to work at our own pace, as long as we met our goals. There were some complications during the project, but Brian was always available to offer assistance and feedback when needed.
