Community Outreach: Summer Rec Program

Our unlicensed dayhome support network is looking to implement a summer meetup program for our members. We would like to collaborate with students to implement a summer recreation program within parks in the Edmonton area. Students will have access to key contacts in our organization for feedback on the program planning. This program will be similar to the "Green Shack" program in Edmonton but will be tailored toward our membership base to help create an opportunity for our members to network with other child care providers and engage with our organization. Students should be prepared to: Research and apply information on recreation programs for children and caregivers. Develop a recreation program series for children ages 1-12 and their caregivers. Plan activities, with the assistance of our staff, which are inclusive of varying cognitive and physical abilities. Work together with our staff to implement the recreation program over a period of time.
