Global Voices Transcription Initiative
Silverlight Productions Inc. is seeking a team of learners to assist in the transcription of interviews from documentary footage captured across various global locations. The primary goal of this project is to accurately transcribe these interviews to aid in the completion of ongoing documentary projects. Learners will be provided with access to transcribing software and, when necessary, translation tools to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the transcriptions. This project offers an excellent opportunity for learners to apply their skills in attention to detail and software proficiency, while gaining insight into the documentary production process. The tasks are closely related and manageable, ensuring that the project can be completed within the designated timeframe.
DOCUMENTARY DATA LOGGING-TRANSCRIPTION
The main project goal is to view and log several hours of footage for documentary projects from approximately 10 locations, and transcribe audio and video interviews with time codes. Also highlight and note strong/informative piece nor viable clips that have the most important information about the related subject that could potentially be used in finished documentaries to provide a flowing story. .
DOCUMENTARY DATA LOGGING-TRANSCRIPTION-RESEARCH
The main project goal is to facilitate the organization and accessibility of background material for documentary and book-related projects, particularly in logging film footage/photos, transcribing interviews, conducting marketing and PR research to further the productivity of the company. This requires detailed scrutiny, knowledge of excel spreadsheets, in-depth research skills, curiosity, adaptability to the needs of various projects, creativity and critical thinking, and the possibility of writing material for website promotion.
Marketing Strategy Campaign

Book Layout and Design
The project goal is to achieve a completed draft of a layout and design for a non-fiction book with text and photographs that will be approximately 100-120 pages in length to portray a biographical sketch of people. This requires book design skills and knowledge of photographic content and working closely with the author to create an eBook and paper copy book for Print on Demand.
MEDIA EDITING & ORGANIZATIONAL ASSISTANT
The main goal of this project is to colour grade still photos and moving images, do some sound editing on videos, and facilitate organization of still photos and other media for a series of media projects relating to nature and people. Facilitation of this project will provide completed media elements for a variety of projects from documentary to websites to books. This will expand the capacity for the production company to branch into other areas of delivering a variety of medium to clients.
Book Marketing Assistant Outreach
The main goal of this project is to facilitate book promotion and marketing to further the reach of the company, including detailed research into viable publishers and distribution markets, as well as private funders and funding bodies that support promotions of authors and books. This is detailed work that requires diligence in digging into specifics and finding contacts, and requirements to participate in festivals, joint book promotional activities as well as noting essentials to write applications, proposals, and producing documents to apply for specific funding to tour and promote books. .
DATA ENTRY FOR FILM FOOTAGE 2024
Our production company films many hours of footage about buffalo/bison and related topics, plus interviews with experts that need to be logged into excel spreadsheets for information retrieval during the editing process particularly for our footage in Canada and various countries around the world. We would like to collaborate with students in the data entry. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our simple, yet detailed, database structure. Transferring data into our databases efficiently, so that is it organized and easily retrievable. May require some research into identifying animals and locations, and noting interviews with experts (names, positions, locations - not transcriptions) Bonus steps in the process would also include: Providing assistance in creating new databases, and conducting research for marketing documentaries.
Publishing Research Marketing Assistant 2024
The main goal of this project is to facilitate publishing marketing to further the reach of the company for several projects ranging from fiction to non-fiction books at various audience levels. Research is to be conducted on marketing resources for projects on publishers, distributors and funding bodies, as well as private and corporate funders and sponsors, along with potential grant and proposal writing.
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT: DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION
Our company is starting a promotional project and we would like to collaborate with a student to design and develop this website from beginning stages to prototype stage to attract our target audience. This will involve several steps for the student, including: · Researching and analyzing target audiences/other websites and desired website features · Designing a prototype for feedback · Developing the prototype with interactive components, including a map, shopping and payment platform and media elements · Documenting the design process and any additional insights that emerge MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH WORDPRESS

The main objective of this project is to link our websites to social media platforms for seamless transference of information, to upgrade the current websites, and to create add-ons, and other updates that will be useful for marketing strategies, and effective communications as well as search engine optimization and create some content
