Advance Ontario Centennial Experience
PRIVATE CENTENNIAL EXPERIENCE FOR CENTENNIAL STUDENTS ONLY Advance Ontario connects eligible Ontario post-secondary students with remote internships to build in-demand skills. Ontario employers mentor students through paid 60-hour projects over 2-8 weeks. Powered by Riipen, the program promotes workforce diversity and aims to create lasting job opportunities while boosting Ontario’s economy. Visit our Help Centre to read our key dates , FAQs & our Terms and Conditions . Employers: Submit your project match request by February 14th, 2025 to participate in this cohort. You'll review applications and choose 1-4 students for your project. You must accept at least one student by February 28th, 2025 to participate. The project can start anywhere from January 20th, 2025 until March 3rd 2025 , and work cannot begin until the start date. Students must complete the onboarding survey, click "start project" on Riipen and complete all deliverables, including 60 work log hours, in at least 2 weeks or by the end date. Check out Getting Started with Advance Ontario: Employers for more information. Students: Students are invited on a first-come, first-served basis and must apply here. There are 50 spots in this cohort, and once filled, remaining applications will be canceled. If invited, you must apply to projects by February 28th, 2025 and start by March 3rd, 2025 if accepted. You can apply to THREE projects at a time. Once an employer accepts one of your applications, your remaining applications will be canceled, and that project will be yours for the rest of the cohort.

As such, it enjoys a respected national and international reputation and is recognized by leading employers. The Workplace and Wellness Health Promotion program will prepare students to promote the total well-being of individuals and groups within corporate and community contexts. If you have a health and wellness related project, bring on one or more students to be your virtual interns for 14 weeks to help. Collaborative Aerospace Innovation with Centennial College Students

Technical and Help Desk Support

Centennial College's Customer Skills course prepares first-year students with the essential knowledge and skills to excel in Level 1 and Level 2 technical support roles in helpdesk environments. Learners are trained in user interaction, multi tier incident management problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, using industry-standard Incident Management help desk applications like LBE Help Desk Software. The course focuses on developing the technical and business skills required for entry-level user support roles. Learners aim to build proficiency in troubleshooting, customer communication, and workload management while gaining hands-on experience working with real-world problems. Employers participating in this collaboration are expected to engage in regular communication with students, provide necessary project information, be present during the final presentation, and offer constructive feedback through the Riipen platform. This feedback will guide learners in refining their technical support and customer service abilities.
Collaborate on Software Development Solutions
COMP 313
Centennial College invites employers to partner with final-year Software Engineering Technology students through the Software Development Project 2 capstone course. Students will work in teams to design and implement a complete application or game and the project must make use of enterprise tools to build enterprise-level data integration. Interactive Gaming students will develop a game, and Health Informatics students will select a project that focuses on healthcare information systems. This course emphasizes skills in communication, problem-solving, project documentation, and user-focused solutions, ensuring students are well-prepared for industry challenges. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication, offer project guidance, provide relevant information, attend the final presentation virtually, and deliver constructive feedback through the Riipen platform.
Storyworks: Museum and Cultural Management

Collaborate with Future Mobile App Developers

Learners in Centennial College's Mobile Application Development Project course focus on developing their skills in mobile app design, agile methodologies, and project management while addressing real-world challenges. They seek to enhance their abilities in teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication throughout the project. Students are required to work in teams of 4-5 to design and implement a complete mobile app (native app, hybrid app, React Native, or mobile web app) and create the artifact design by applying agile software development methodologies and project management principles. Employers are expected to provide regular communication, guidance, and essential information related to the project. They will also be invited to attend the final presentation and provide constructive feedback on the students' work via the Riipen platform.
AI Capstone Collaboration for Real-World Solutions

Centennial College’s AI Capstone Project learners collaborate to research, design, and develop AI-driven applications that solve real-world problems. They bring expertise in AI techniques and data analysis to deliver innovative and scalable applications integrated with AI capabilities. Throughout this experience, students will develop their skills in ethical AI practices, advanced programming, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Students will primarily focus on building end-to-end AI solutions and capabilities and proof of concepts. Students may have limited UX/UI, front-end/back-end development, cloud deployment, etc. capabilities. Employers engaging in this collaboration are expected to provide regular communication and guidance, share relevant project information, attend a virtual final presentation, and offer constructive feedback on the project progress and final demonstration using the Riipen platform. Employers are expected to provide data with full metadata, and clean data for the projects as much as possible.

This experience aims to source appropriate projects for these students interested in securing experiential learning projects during their final year at Centennial College. Students have examined the interrelationship among functional areas of a business enterprise; specifically, human resources, operations management, marketing and sales, and accounting and finance. Students have developed an understanding of how these functional areas of business are impacted as the economy, technology, global competition, and consumer decision making continue to evolve. Virtual Internship Opportunity Bring on one or more students from the Centennial College International Business Management program to be your virtual intern! Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. The semester runs from January 18 to April 16. Students must complete a minimum of 12 weeks and 392 hours. Students are able to complete their internship virtually, but also in person if it is feasible and can be done safely.
Professional Writing Internship
Placements offer an opportunity for students to get on-the-job experience before beginning their careers. Our placements are five weeks, full-time (40 hours) and unpaid. Field placement is a for-credit course in our program, and as such, is exempt under the Employment Standards Act. As well, students are covered under Centennial’s insurance policy for the length of their placement. The student works as an active member of your team for the entirety of their placement and has no other courses at that time.
