Athletics Research Project Coordinator
Number of individual students required: (1 Student) Background: Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) and the Thunder Athletics & Recreation department are proud members of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Thunder Athletics takes pride in promoting academic and athletic success, event hosting, and servicing thousands of students annually. Reporting to the Director of Athletics & Recreation, the successful candidate will be a results oriented team player with a positive can-do attitude. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the organization, development and implementation of a post-secondary Athletics & Recreation program that abides by the institution and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) codes of ethics. Project Overview: Thunder Athletics is always seeking innovative ways to effectively deliver Athletics and Recreation to the students, staff, and community stakeholders of Concordia University of Edmonton. The Athletics Research Project Coordinator position will entail extensive research, data collection and analysis to review current operations of the department and to explore new opportunities in the marketplace. Responsibilities Will Include: · Research market data across the ACAC and CCAA. · Research innovative programming to assist with event planning for the 2021-22 season. · Collect and analysis Thunder Athletics social media data. · Conduct a review of policy and procedures. · Conduct research to develop procedures for the Thunder Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (TSAAC). Project Timeline: This project will be completed over the course of 80 hours during the months of May to August 2021.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics & Recreation, the successful candidate will be a results oriented team player with a positive can-do attitude. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the organization, development and implementation of a post-secondary Athletics & Recreation program that abides by the institution and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) codes of ethics. Project Scope: Thunder Athletics wants to enhance its overall engagement with its students, athletes, fans, and community stakeholders on campus and across the ACAC and the CCAA. The Athletics Digital Media Project Coordinator position will entail extensive research, organization and creativity that will be applied in a fast paced work environment. Throughout the duration of this project there will be constant communication between department staff, coaches, and student athletes to provide support as needed. Responsibilities Will Include: · Review and revise current Thunder Athletics & Recreation marketing plan. · Create a strategic marketing campaign for the 2021-2022 Thunder Athletics season. · Create a strategic marketing campaign to enhance Campus Recreation engagement. · Develop a social media content plan for the 2021-22 season · Research strategies to enhance social media outreach. Project Timeline: This project will be completed over the course of 4 weeks (80 hours) and is expected to begin in May 2021.

The Athletics Marketing & Sponsorship Project Coordinator with focus on servicing current and future partners of Thunder Athletics. The position will entail extensive research, creativity, customer service and strategic integration of partnership activation that will be applied in a fast paced, team oriented work environment. Responsibilities Will Include: · Research and prospect organizations in the community that would benefit from a potential partnership with Thunder Athletics. · Create a sponsorship asset list that can be used for leveraging potential sponsors. · Create a sponsorship program that can be used for approaching prospects. · Develop a detailed servicing plan that supports and enhances current partnerships. · Create a strategic activation plan for the 2021-22 athletics season. Project Timeline: This project will be completed over the course of 80 hours during the months of May to August 2021.
