Christopher Andrews is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Drew University where he teaches courses on consumption and consumer culture, consumer behavior, research methods, social psychology, and a first year seminar on the "science of shopping". He is the author of The Overworked Consumer: Self-Checkouts, Supermarkets, and the Do-it-Yourself Economy (2019), has published several articles in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Sociological Inquiry, and has been interviewed by news outlets such as the Associated Press, Boston Globe, and CNN. He previously served as the co-director (2020-2022) and director (2023) of Drew University's Business program and is currently working on a book about the "gig economy".
