Margins to Mainstream - Developing Concept for Profitable Women Enterprises
Margins to Mainstream is a radical wealth creation concept adapted by Firestarter IDEAS from the traditional community savings programs of immigrant women. The concept was born out of a realization that women are not fully participating in the economy and are disproportionately represented in informal economic activities. It is a platform where women pool their resources and establish profitable entities in Canada and abroad. Firestarter is seeking to apply a more scientific method of operating the Margins to Mainstream business model so that it can be replicated in Canada, within NGO sector and globally. Areas of focus will include documenting the history of Su Su or ROSCA, identifying possible new structure compatible with Canadian banking systems, researching group training content, develop group performance measurement etc. We would like our assigned intern(s) to preform a comprehensive analysis of our business model and contribute to reviewing the business plan.

Develop and Execute Communications Strategy
We would like students to help us establish a public presence aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. Thrive 263 was created as a vehicle to support women of Zimbabwean heritage living in Canada to increase their participation in the Canadian economy. Thrive is seeking to create digital presence by sharing their journey through an informational website, social media and other internal communications tools. We are looking to create a strategic communications plan that will raise profile, provide timely information and position for establishment of strategic relationships. You will be working on content creation for our organization, including updating website, content creation, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to communications tools.
