The data will be broken down by business sectors, including, Health, Finance, Retail (FMCG/CPG), Mobile, and Technology, amongst others; and by countries. For example, a marketer for a Kenyan bank may be interested in purchasing our Finance research data to help them understand consumers’ demographic profile, banking needs, and usage of financial services in Kenya. To support our launch, we'd like the students to produce an effective digital marketing and communication plan. This will help Kasi Insight develop brand and product awareness, and increase the number of followers on our social media platforms. Our target audience (clientele) : Marketing Execs within i. FMCG companies, ii. Retailers (Supermarkets, Drugstores, Clothing, Electronics, etc), iii. Mobile service providers, iv. Multinationals, and v. Lending Support

According to McKinsey, Africa has the third largest population of unbanked adults (326 millions) representation 80% of the adult’s population. According to banking executives in Africa, assessing consumer credit risk is one the main challenge facing banks and slowing the access to credit. One of the reason for slow credit is the lack of data to assess lending behavior and the ability to repay. KASI has pioneered a survey based index that captures lending activities/behavior outside of the banking system and compute quantitative metrics (similar to a score). The students will be tasked to develop a recommendation engine for lending decision (personal or business) using internal data collected by KASI and external data available and relevant. The output will help credit officers with lending decisions in Africa.
