MiTravel - Business Development / Marketing

THE PROJECT We are looking for a business / marketing strategy to further increase customer adoption of MiTravel which will be implement during the course of project term. The main goal is to capture our avid group travel planners’ attention and increase their interest in becoming an early user of the MiTravel Planning Board. You will have the opportunity to choose from and work on 1-2 specific marketing channels and activities including (but not limited to) the following: Business Development : identify, build relationships and secure partnerships with travel-related companies that will benefit from integrating the MiTravel Planning Board into their business operations and be of use to their community of travellers. Community Engagement : increase member size and channel engagement within our Discord community, becoming the leading central hub for all avid travellers and planners. Email Marketing : develop a lead magnet that will attract website visitors to subscribe to our mailing list, as well as create newsletters to engage with existing subscribers (both users / non-users), ultimately converting non-users to become MiTravel users. Product Education : increase product knowledge and demonstrate the value of the MiTravel Planning Board to potential users, resulting in users choosing to sign up for an account with MiTravel over alternative platforms. Selected students will develop a strategy for a specific marketing channel and implement their ideas from start to finish, with ongoing support and mentorship from the Founder & CEO. To ensure the successful delivery of this project, we outline some key tasks and basic timeline which selected students will perform: Week 1 : Gain a better understanding of what MiTravel is as a company and platform, and conduct preliminary primary or secondary market research to strengthen your understanding of the group travel planner demographic, and assess best practices of what engages them and makes them want to sign-up and become an early user of the platform. Week 1 : Develop and present your strategy pitch + implementation plan to the Founder & CEO that will improve our brand / product presence while also growing our user base to become the go-to travel planning platform for group travellers. Week 2-7 : Implement your content strategy across channel(s) you and your group of selected students have chosen. Review weekly metrics of the KPIs set to measure how your strategy is proceeding forward (what's working / not working). Week 8 : Analyze project implementation and consolidate into a final deliverable (i.e. what you worked on over the past 8 weeks, what were the results, any challenges that you faced, what would you do differently, key learnings and takeaways) which will be presented to the team during the Wrap-Up Showcase & Social Party. Please note: the selected student candidates will work on this project on a part-time basis for about 10 hours per week (for a maximum duration of 8 weeks). THE CANDIDATES You are an ambitious, entrepreneurial-driven student looking to build a career in business development or product marketing. Positions available: 1-2 (teams or individual) THE PROJECT As our graphic designer, you will use your knowledge, expertise and skills in the fields of typography, imagery, space, texture to help craft a unique and memorable brand image for MiTravel. Contribute to building and refining the existing MiTravel brand system by establishing a clear & compelling art direction. Design visual communication assets, including social media templates, digital publications, videos and animations, and other digital and physical materials. Visually establish brand consistency across all communication platforms and channels. Collaborate closely with the Co-Founder & Lead Designer, Founder & CEO, and the Marketing team to understand the targeted audience groups and contribute to creative strategies. Staying in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in the graphic design field. Please note: the selected student candidates will work on this project on a part-time basis for about 10 hours per week (for a maximum duration of 8 weeks). THE CANDIDATE You are a strong team player with a maker spirit that would like to use your talents to help shape the early vision of MiTravel. MiTravel - UI/UX Design

Positions available: 3-5 (teams or individual) THE PROJECT We are looking to produce a standard design system that current and future MiTravel designers and developers can refer to. The main goal of the design system is to deliver a consistent and familiar experience across different apps and websites of our company, help different teams collaborate more effectively and reduce duplicate work, and ultimately create a unified tone of voice when communicating with our customers across different channels. Selected students will have the opportunity to take the lead on this project from concept to completion, with ongoing support and mentorship from the Co-Founder & Lead Designer. To ensure the successful delivery of this project, we outline some key tasks (but not limited to) which selected students will perform: Gain a better understanding of what MiTravel is as a company and platform, and become familiarize with current design systems and tools used across various teams Conduct preliminary research to strengthen your understanding of design systems and identify the best architecture for the MiTravel pattern library Work collaboratively with the group of selected students and our Co-Founder & Lead Designer to create the UI inventory, establish rules and principles, build the colour palette and typography scale, implement an icon library, standardize other style properties and bring to life a design systems that conveys the collective identity of MiTravel Finalize and consolidate all of the information into a comprehensive guideline for approval Please note: the selected student candidates will work on this project on a part-time basis for about 10 hours per week (for a maximum duration of 8 weeks). MiTravel - Product Marketing

Positions available: 1-3 (teams or individual) THE PROJECT We are looking for a product launch campaign strategy , which we can implement leading up to our official product launch in June 2021. The main goal of the product launch strategy is to better capture our student travellers’ attention, through creating an engaging, hype campaign, that increases their interest in becoming an early adopter of MiTravel upon launch. One part of the strategy is to focus on building our mailing list subscribers in preparation for the product launch. Selected students will have the opportunity to take the lead on this project from concept to creation, with ongoing support and mentorship from the Founder & CEO. To ensure the successful delivery of this project, we outline some key tasks (but not limited to) which selected students will perform: Gain a better understanding of what MiTravel is as a company and platform, and identify a tailored campaign strategy that will deliver a successful and well-received product launch Conduct preliminary primary and secondary market research to strengthen your understanding of the student travellers demographic, and assess best practices of what engages them and makes them want to sign-up and become an early user of the platform Work collaboratively with the group of selected students and our Founder & CEO to develop strategies that will improve our online and offline presence, grow our mailing list sign-up and increase conversion rates, and recommend relevant programs, tools, and methods of engagement to consider Finalize and consolidate a 3-month roll-out product launch plan with a creative, compelling and engaging marketing strategy that successfully targets the student travellers market Please note: the selected student candidates will work on this project on a part-time basis for about 10 hours per week (for a maximum duration of 8 weeks). THE CANDIDATES You are an ambitious, entrepreneurial-driven student looking to build a career in product marketing or strategy consulting. Full of creative ideas, you are known as the go-to person when it comes to brainstorming and executing fun marketing campaigns. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you are confident in your abilities, motivated to produce quality work, and are eager to spearhead and bring this project from concept to creation. Most importantly, you are passionate about traveling and enjoy planning for a trip! We are looking for a couple of Marketing and/or Business students with varying backgrounds and experience. Ideally, students have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile, virtual, dispersed working environment with minimum supervision. PRODUCT MARKETING & LAUNCH STRATEGIST 1-3 years of marketing, project management and/or consulting experience within a technology company or start-up environment Self-starter who loves to take ownership and is a creative, outside-the-box thinker Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills Passion for start-up and product marketing with good understanding of industry trends Working towards a degree in marketing, communication, technology, business or similar Portfolio to showcase past marketing campaign, social media campaign, or case study work Previous study and/or work abroad experience (or intention to in the future) is an asset At this time, we are looking to bring on 1-3 people for this specific project as outlined above. AIESEC x MiTravel Creative Challenge: Web-Application Prototype Screen Designs

THE CHALLENGE Research shows that 7 out 10 students choose to study abroad because of their interest in traveling to new places, experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. MiTravel currently provides students studying or working abroad a way to plan and manage their travel efficiently, intuitively and collaboratively. In the near future, MiTravel aims to connect abroad students through building a community. In this community, we hope that students can meet and plan with others who hold similar interests or travel preferences. Some questions for you to consider (but not limited to) are as follows: How would you define what a community is and what type of value would students get out of this community? What form of community could MiTravel create that complements its existing features? How can MiTravel provide a space that helps connect these students to each other? These students could be located either within the same or different host university / country. What type of tools or functionalities would students want in order to create an enjoyable community experience? We encourage you to utilize both primary and secondary research as it will strengthen your understanding of the audience and support you in reaching your final idea and design decisions THE SUBMISSION PROTOTYPE REQUIREMENTS Must be web/desktop-based application , answer the challenge, and respond to all aspects of the evaluation (see judging rubric under "Resources & Files") Created and used interactively with 10 or more prototype screens connected together through links in Figma or Adobe XD Created during the challenge period and not be derived from previously created work Contain only original content, artwork, royalty-free stock images, or cited images/text DELIVERABLE PROCESS Submissions are due on Sunday, January 10 at 11:59PM PST via Riipen Prepare a 150-word summary to provide context for the MiTravel team’s review. Explain the strategic and creative reasoning behind your presented idea and design decisions. Finalists will be announced on Sunday, January 17 and will be contacted with more information on how to present their work to the MiTravel team. The final presentation will be held on Friday, January 22nd. Teams will receive a selection of times to choose from. PROJECT EVALUATION How well are you solving the presented challenge? How well did you consider usability and flow? How valid is the reasoning behind your idea and design decisions? How innovative is the solution presented? How well are you effectively using visual design principles? Disclaimer: This challenge is created as a learning opportunity for you to advance your skillsets, work with individuals outside your faculty, and demonstrate your talents. It is not to be considered as speculative work. Project ideas will not be used by AIESEC, MiTravel or Riipen.
